Intercoastal Marine was formed in the spring of 2000 by Terry Martin, a Certified Marine Mechanic, who started his career back in 1987 with Imperial Marine. The business started out as a sole proprietorship operating out of one bay on the grounds of Chesapeake Yachting Center. One year after opening, Terry added a parts and supply store to his operation, and in 2002 became a Mercruiser, Evinrude and Johnson factory authorized dealer.

Competitive pricing, quick turnaround and integrity are the foundation of the business. Through word-of-mouth and based on the quality of service provided, the company has grown tremendously over the years. Intercoastal Marine now operates out of a larger facility at Chesapeake with a total of four mechanics. The company offers one of the area’s widest selections of inventory available for Mercruiser and OMC parts and has the largest inventory when it comes to the Evinrude and Johnson lines.

Terry has developed a reputation and is known as a resident expert around the bay area for his extensive knowledge and expertise with Evinrude and Johnson motors. He keeps abreast of the latest in technology and attends annual training seminars and workshops offered by the various manufacturers. His mechanics are highly trained and all work performed must adhere to Terry’s high standards and pass his personal inspection.

In addition to servicing customers at Chesapeake Yachting Center, mobile services are available to boaters located at both Long Beach Marina and Parkside Marina in Bowley’s Quarters.
